An Active Fire Curtain is an automatically deployable fire and smoke containment system designed to restrict the spread of flames, hot gases, and smoke between designated areas of a building during a fire emergency. The system consists of a specially engineered fire-resistant curtain fabric housed within a compact head box and normally remains concealed when not in operation. Upon receiving a signal from the fire alarm or fire detection system, the curtain automatically descends to its predetermined position, creating a vertical fire-resistant barrier across openings such as doors, corridors, atriums, escalators, shutters, and large architectural openings. The curtain is manufactured from high-temperature-resistant materials and is designed to maintain its integrity for a specified fire-resistance period, helping to compartmentalize the affected area and provide additional time for evacuation and firefighting operations. Active Fire Curtains are suitable for commercial buildings, shopping malls, offices, hospitals, hotels, industrial facilities, and other premises requiring effective passive fire compartmentation without compromising architectural aesthetics during normal operation.
