Clean Agent Fire Protection System is an advanced fire suppression system designed to detect and extinguish fires rapidly without causing damage to sensitive equipment, electrical systems, or valuable assets. The system uses gaseous clean extinguishing agents such as FK-5-1-12, HFC-based agents, or other approved clean agents, which suppress fire primarily by removing heat and/or interrupting the combustion process without leaving residue. A typical system consists of clean-agent storage cylinders, releasing valves, detection and alarm control panels, smoke/heat detectors, manual release and abort switches, pressure switches, piping network, and discharge nozzles. Upon detection of a fire, the control panel initiates a pre-alarm and, after the programmed time delay, activates the releasing mechanism to discharge the calculated concentration of clean agent throughout the protected enclosure. The system is suitable for server rooms, data centers, electrical and control rooms, UPS rooms, telecom facilities, laboratories, archives, museums, and other critical areas where water or foam suppression may cause secondary damage. Proper system design includes room integrity assessment, agent concentration calculation, nozzle sizing, hydraulic flow calculations, pressure relief provisions, and compliance with applicable standards such as NFPA 2001 and relevant international standards.
