FirePro aerosol technology works by deploying a potassium-based solid compound (FPC) that, when activated by heat or an electrical signal, transforms into a rapidly expanding, condensed aerosol fog. This aerosol consists of solid microscopic particles (less than 5 microns) suspended in a carrier gas, which are discharged directly into the protected space without the need for piping or high-pressure containers. Unlike traditional systems that cool the air or remove oxygen, FirePro suppresses fire at the molecular level by inhibiting the chemical chain reactions of combustion. When the aerosol reaches the fire, the potassium radicals (K*) bind with hydroxyl (OH-) radicals, breaking the combustion cycle and preventing re-ignition. Due to their 'gas-type' behavior, these particles disperse quickly, making them highly effective for total flooding in electrical, industrial, and machinery-related fire hazards.
