CLEAN AGENT SYSTEM FOR CONTROL ROOM

A clean agent system used in a control room is a specialized fire suppression solution designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment without causing damage or leaving residue. These systems typically use gaseous extinguishing agents such as FK-5-1-12 or inert gases (e.g., IG-541), which suppress fire by either absorbing heat or reducing oxygen levels to a point where combustion cannot be sustained, while still remaining safe for occupied spaces. The system consists of storage cylinders, a piping network, discharge nozzles, and an automatic detection and control panel integrated with smoke or heat detectors. Upon detection of a fire, the system activates after a preset delay, allowing personnel to evacuate, and then releases the clean agent uniformly throughout the control room to rapidly extinguish the fire. Clean agent systems are preferred in control rooms because they are non-conductive, environmentally acceptable, and leave no residue, ensuring minimal downtime and no damage to critical equipment such as servers, SCADA systems, and communication panels.
