A direct low-pressure clean agent system is a specialized fire suppression solution designed to protect sensitive environments such as data centers, control rooms, archives, and telecommunications facilities where water-based systems could cause damage. This system uses a clean gaseous extinguishing agent—commonly agents like FK-5-1-12 or HFC-227ea—stored in cylinders at relatively low pressure compared to high-pressure systems. Upon detection of a fire through heat, smoke, or flame detectors, the system’s control panel activates and releases the agent through a network of piping and discharge nozzles directly into the protected area.
