CO2 Fire Suppression System

A CO₂ (Carbon Dioxide) Fire Suppression System is a fixed, total flooding or local application fire protection system designed to rapidly extinguish fires in enclosed or defined hazard areas. The system uses compressed liquefied carbon dioxide as the extinguishing agent, which suppresses fire primarily by reducing the oxygen concentration in the protected area below the level required to sustain combustion. Upon fire detection, the system automatically discharges CO₂ through a network of piping and nozzles, achieving fast and uniform distribution. CO₂ is electrically non-conductive, residue-free, and non-corrosive, making it suitable for protecting sensitive equipment and high-value assets. CO₂ systems are widely used in electrical rooms, generator enclosures, turbine housings, flammable liquid storage areas, paint booths, engine rooms, and industrial process hazards. Due to the oxygen-displacing nature of CO₂, these systems are primarily intended for normally unoccupied or restricted-access areas, with mandatory safety interlocks, alarms, and warning signage.
